Mission and Goals of the Kent CARE Team The Kent School CARE Team at the Raymond A. Kent School of Social Work is dedicated to Child/Family Assessment, Research and Education. We conduct research and provide information and resources to our own state of Kentucky as well as states across the country in child welfare, child care, marriage & relationship and domestic violence interventions, training and evaluation. We assess current intervention, training and evaluation needs, facilitate performance standards in training evaluation, implement meaningful program and training evaluations, and ensure quality interventions and training by providing meaningful feedback to systems. Our team is currently funded for 8 million dollars over the next three years by the Cabinet for Health and Family Services, the Department of Education, the DHHS, Administration on Children and Families, Children’s Bureau and Child Care Bureau, Health Kentucky, The Foundation for a Healthy Kentucky, the Housing Authority of Metro Louisville (using HUD funds) and various states with whom we work. We collaborate with the University of Louisville College of Human Development, the Department of Communication, the School of Public Health, the Urban Studies Institute as well as the University of Kentucky College of Education and Center for Early Childhood Professional Development.
