Clarksdale HOPE VI Revitalization
This is a contract for the evaluation of the Clarksdale revitalization program. Through the federal HOPE VI program, Louisville Metro Housing Authority is replacing the distressed housing in the Clarksdale area of Louisville, KY, mainly by creating a mixed-income neighborhood on the existing Clarksdale footprint. The Clarksdale revitalization construction includes 453 on-site units, in a mix of single-family homes, duplexes, triplexes, town homes, six and nine unit apartment buildings, and a low-rise assisted living building for the elderly. Clarksdale HOPE VI includes a case management component (Community and Supportive Services) which provides former Clarksdale residents with assistance on their employment, education, management of finances, child and health care, safety, and housing needs.
