Healthy Kentucky
The Louisville Metro Health Department has contracted with the Kent School of Social Work at the University of Louisville (Kent School of Social Work) for evaluation for a project entitled, Using Organizational Learning to Enhance Policy Development. The goals of this Healthy Kentucky pilot project are to increase the policy development capacity of LMHD and to establish a methodology for policy development training that can be customized for and implemented by other local health departments across the state, region and nation. In this pilot project, staff from the Louisville Metro Health Department (LMHD) and policy researchers from the University of Louisville’s School of Public Health and Information Sciences (U of L School of Public Health) will collaborate to develop a case study of a current public health concern regarding access to health care, and teach a policy development training module for LMHD direct service, supervisory and managerial staff.
